Urla Vineyard House Garden

For a vineyard house with limited summer irrigation, a dry-garden approach was adopted. The plant list consists entirely of drought-tolerant species: rosemary, sage, lavender, olive, fig and ornamental grasses.

Surfaces

Gravel and setts paths allow rainwater to return to the soil. Sixty cypresses were planted in rows as a wind break.

Result

In summer only one irrigation a week is needed. The project was shortlisted for a regional landscape award.
