Zekeriyaköy Olive Garden
A 1,400 m² villa garden with mature olives, lavender beds and natural stone paths.
On a sloping plot the family asked for a summer kitchen, a children's play area and a quiet seating corner. Nine olive trees from the old garden were kept at the centre of the design and six 40-year-old olives were added.
Design decisions
Natural stone retaining walls form the terraces. Lavender, rosemary and ornamental grasses surround the seating area. Total planted area is 760 m² and lawn 280 m².
Water management
Irrigation is zoned; rainwater is stored in a 12 m³ underground tank and used for olives and shrubs. Annual water use is 47% lower than in comparable gardens.
